Heat (2014)

Heat is an experiment in metric perception and rhythm generation. The four drum parts are comprised of algorithmically generated rhythms, each in a different meter. Each rhythm starts off with only the first note of the pattern and develops through an additive process until the complete rhythm emerges. The process itself is guided by a set of rules, based on the alignment of the different metered parts and which determine when new material is introduced.
